The area I live in now Bournheath/Dodford/Belbroughton.. I hate it here.. can't wait to move.. it's in between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove.. It's full of people who work in Birmingham, bombing around the lanes like their backsides are on fire..  they are business people commuting into Birmingham..

I want to go back towards Droitwich.. House going on market in Sept.

I want to live somewhere where we will not be mown down by the latest 4x4..

I have lived in Worcestershire and been educated all my life (all 41 years), firstly in Hagley and then moving to Bromsgrove where my family originally came from. Hagley is a largish village but is now mainly commuter belt, houses are supremely expensive, but at least the roads infrastructure is good, a station which has trains to Birmingham or Worcester every 20 mins and a school system that is excellent (Haybridge consistently gets Ofsted outstanding reports, but is a bit of an exam factory), and my mum still lives there. Mum and Dad are Fairfield/Bournheath folk, and TBH I can't see any probs from living there, Bromsgrove is a nice middle of the road place to live, house prices slightly above average, with little crime (mainly anti social and petty theft) the town doesn't have much but Redditch is only 10mins away with the Kingfisher shopping centre, there are also plenty of satellite villages such as Catshill, The stokes (Prior/Heath and Pound)and Alvechurch, the big chemical factory at stoke works has closed down (I know i used to work there), Droitwich is lovely, Don't have any problems with Worcester. Most of the schooling in Worcestershire is good, If you really want to push the boat out and spend all your lottery millions you could look at Barnt Green and rub noses with football players and pop stars...Oh and nice friendly ambulancemen ;)

I live in Ludlow about 25 mile from Kiddiminster...the best of both worlds.Rural and near enough to big towns such as Shrewsbury-30 mile, Hereford 28 miles.Loads goes on here in Ludlow all year round-famous for its food and was food capital of the UK not so long ago.
Crime is pretty low, the shops are all full again and open , market is thriving-we do the market every week selling my paintings and we get visitors from all over the country--more or less everyone wants to come back.
I was quite shocked when we went to Kiddy the other week--the main street was like a ghost town--so many empty shops. Loads of charity shops but not much else.Such a shame...I have to disagree about the locals being unfriendly though--my ex lived in Kiddy and he wasnt local originaly-- I was made welcome by everyone I met, though never wanted to live there.

Hi, we've lived in Kidderminster for the past 4 years ending up here a bit by accident needing to buy a house after we were flooded in 2007 near Pershore. It's not a place I particularly like. As somebody else has said it's not the friendliest of places if you're not local and the town is getting emptier as more shops close.I would move tomorrow if I could find the right property and I don't think we'll be here any longer than we need to be. I've lived all over the country from Devon to Cumbria and I think Kiddy is the place I dislike the most. I have met a number of people who are from this neck of the woods and not one of them are in a hurry to come back. Just wish I'd met them before I moved here. Could be worse I suppose at least I'm not stuck in a city centre.

I've been visiting Bewdley for years and the setting is very picturesque. Don't know about schools and such though. Severn tends to flood occasionally, which is a problem for waterside properties, but the town side of the river has flood defences now. They do seem to have vicious cold winters in the Midlands; something to bear in mind if moving inland from a more temperate coastal location.

Anyone live in this or surrounding area. I just would like to know what it's like living here and your views, possibly wouldn't be in a town would prefer a little more rural.

I would like to know the best and the worst about living here.

Malvern is your best bet. We live in a rural village within the Malvern District Council area. Google their website.
