Tweet discovered and within next to no time the alleged offender was caught. So many people think that they are anonomous on the interent. However, the powers that be can find you very quickly and there are ofences that you can be charged with.

People don't realise you have an address on the Internet. How do they think all these messages find them? Sheer luck?
Just a short step from checking the IP address and ringing the ISP for a home one.

The lad had done a You Tube rant as well threatening Tom Daley and stuck that on Twitter for everyone to see.
Recently there was the case of a Welsh student who posted racist and vile tweets about Bolton footballer Fabrice Muamba and got jailed for 56 days. Totally right as well. Again i watched it on going on Twitter at the time and how people were warning him that he was gonna be in big trouble, and he just responded by giving those people abuse. About 2 hours later he tried to back track and said his account was hacked. It was a bit too late for that though.
Im all for a bit of banter but theres a line that shouldnt be crossed but theres plenty of trolls on Twitter who think they can just post what they want, and quite simply they cant.

so you can only be abused and have something done now if your famous what a joke.
The individual concerned actually posted a specific death threat - that is why the police took action
i see many death threats on all them nutter sites on fb and twitter, daily death to the infidels, death to the Asian nutters, dont see that in the press daily, The press seem to have their own way of spinning the news, just seems if your famous things get done if your not they dont.
Also you know when the press is a bit wary of the story as they disable comments on them.
and context cant be the difference between 1 year for assault and 5 for attempted murder, just by saying am going to kill you while knocking seven bells out of someone.
when things get heated people react in different ways. maybe a isp ban would be more efficient than prison time.

I had a facebook account and have now completely got rid of it. Fed up with so much rubbish it was never worth it as far i was concerned. Even some of the family were a nuicance and told them why. If they want to contact me use the phone and no text as i only have the mobile when out of the house. It appears to me if have a twitter or facebook have to more or less accept what goes on. Not right I aggree.

How many times has the news advertised about teenagers killing themselves due to abuse ?
how many of their parents then said they had contacted the police over this ?
