Mine was fitted yesterday. Did not take long, it is going to take a week or two to settle down so it is a bit unstable at the moment (there is a two week tweaking period) but it seem a lot faster!

Check your area is geared up for this as mine is not as some places are way behind the times, my village is for sure. There is the option for BT home hub which i have heard is ok. We are thinking of changing to these from Orange but would have loved the infinity if it had been in our area, all areas have different broadband speeds and i have heard some areas do not have broadband full stop. I sometimes wish our area would come in to the 21st century.

Horses for courses my friend. Village life has its plus points too. Some aspects of the 21st century I'd prefer we didn't have.

Out in the sticks we can only dream of such high speeds, we are lucky to get just over 2mg download and less than 1mg upload . We are with BT and have a LOT of problems but to be fair this is down to very old wiring that is so fragile that when they come out to fix someones line they take 2/3 others down at the same time.

For all that though I don't have any other issue with them.   I think if you are in a town/city or near new exchanges then they are a good way to go. Out in the sticks like us they are all very much the same, sloooooooooooooow.

You do well to get 2mb, here( in an urban area but a long way from the exchange ) I am lucky if I get 1.5 mb and it drops frequently at that. However, they have just fibre opticced the estate boxes and I ve been offered an expected 46mb connection. So even out in the stiks there is likely to be movement soon.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

They're currently investing heavily in running fibre from the exchange to the street cabinet - so called FTTC. This way they expect to reach two-thirds of the population by 2014.

FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) could eventually support 300Mb

BT's Infinity Availability Checker is here.

We have broad band in our village but not infinity as someone in our street was looking in to getting it but could not have it for this reason which is a pain so they ended up getting home hub which is ok but not superfast as infinity claims to be as does Virgin, its so confusing at times. It may also come as a shock that not many people on the estate i live on have computers, only a handfull do, god honist truth i am not joking. One guy still uses his old spectrum computer, remember these things from the 1980s and another bloke has an old commodoor system.

The Goverment are saying they will increase broadband speeds. Please let my area be on the list, infact in my opinion the whole country should be the same speed. I am surprised it is not. My speed is slow but i have been told home hub is a bit faster. At certain times of the day watching videos is a pain as i get buffering. I feel everyone should be online in this day and age, that said in my younger days i found those early systems hard to use so did not bother showing intrest. Modern day computers are easy to use unlike the models of yesteryear.

Not only that some folk in my street say BAAA computers no way, the old days were better, i agree partly with them though. One old gent has just learnt how to surf the net and he loves it but some are set in there ways where i live.

If the Home Hub is the BT unit, it is the router they supply now with both their standard broadband, and Infinity. It works with both, although with Infinity they instal an extra modem in between the wall socket and the Home Hub.
