I was standing outside the stadium working and it sounded good from where i was ! The fireworks were amazing,even with the limited views we had of them.The park was a bit weird when it was on as a lot was closed off and noone was milling around as per usual.
The highlight for me was everyone who was leaving and their spirit.It was one big party with many just dancing around several small bands that were dotted around outside.Walking back to stratford there was an amazing brazillian band walking along and playing with everyone just dancing along,even the coppers were letting off steam and dancing,pure magic.
That was a minor taste of how rio could be but we set a new standard something everyone should be proud of.I was paid to work there but most were just giving up their time for free.The messhall had a great atmosphere and people were watching the screens and cheering.
Todays parade was the cherry on top especially seeing the red arrows flying over.
Britain needed it after years of war and the economic hard times of the last few years.
We are GREAT britain yet again i reckon.
