I have found it the other way around .....never had to claim for any damage due to high winds or floods (they would have to be building a new ark for that one) but have had to claim twice due to snow damage.

Last year the snow took off the rear guttering and damaged the front guttering brackets and 4 years ago we had that much snow come off the roof it knocked over a 330kg motorbike in the back yard, smashing the windscreen, mirror, dashboard and some of the fairing.

Well snow is melting albeit slowly, managed to dislodge a lot off the roof with a very long piece of wood. Insurance assessor due on Thursday to look at damage.

After the latest addition to the snow levels yesterday some of the people in my street were pushing cars up the hill yesterday evening including one "mondeo man" who was sat spinning his wheels in 1st gear going nowhere.

As soon as he was told to stick it in second, slip the clutch to get him going and keep the revs down, a little push to get him going and up the hill no problem, you wonder why people just do not think.

A couple of years ago, when I had my Discovery, I helped a few people out of the station car-park ... one woman let me tow her car out its own personal snow drift (no problem there), then once she was on to the flat, compacted snow she stuck the car in first and virtually floored the accelerator - funnily enough, she went no-where!  I told her to use 2nd and low revs - just enough to keep moving - might as well have saved my breath!  She told me there was no way her 2-wheel drive car would move in the conditions and I HAD to tow her out of the car-park!!!  I would have dearly loved to have left her where she was, but she was blocking those who COULD drive from getting out.  So I got in her car and calmly, with absolutely no skidding or wheel-slip, drove it off the packed snow some 200 yards to clear road .... I then left it there and walked back to my Disco, smiling at her shocked face as I passed her!!! Classic.

Been out with the granddaughter, built a snowman for her. Too dangerous to walk about unless necessary. Not willing to take the risk of falling and doing something to this artificial hip.
Oh and I still hate the bl**dy snow, wait till the rain comes then it will be floods.
