Well, i have inside information lol, all catering trailers have to have separate hand washing facilities to the preparation sink to comply with the food hygiene laws, and most owners will shut up shop for a pee break and hitch a lift to the nearest loo from one of their regular customers in return for a free cuppa, the layby truck stops are quite a friendly community, our youngest daughter used to work on our local HungryJack trailers doing the events and shows before she had a family of her own, and she also is friendly with the Tasty Wopper lady who stands in the layby on the A6 just south of matlock.
As for builders, well, my OH had 50 years in the trade, its usually the sites bucket and chuck it that gets used lol, and often into the cement mixer if no one is looking, although spent milk containers are a favourite for white van man, and a hard hat lined with a plastic bag makes a good potty if you need to sit!
OH used to ask to use a nearby loo if he was out and about on a housing site doing snagging repairs, but some people were funny about it and refused him, despite him working for them, others he wished he had not asked, as the loo was so dirty he didnt feel comfotable using it, others he could sense someone was listening to him outside the door and sniggering, a bit off putting to say the least, even if it was only kids!
