What a nice post Kyla.

It will be six years in August for me, and I have to say that if I'm not actually camping somewhere then there's nowhere I'd rather be than on here. I've laughed, cried, shared triumphs and disappointments, got good advice and information and hopefully given some, and made friends with people who I would probably never have met, so UKCS gets a big from me.

I have just recently joined this forum, but have been an active member of Bull Terrier forums for years. Facebook has seen off a lot of our forum members over the last couple of years but i still think you cant beat a good old forum. Had a bit of a rocky start with my introduction post but onwards and upwards!

Hoping to use and be part of this forum for the forthcoming years and i am enjoying reading posts past and present whilst i am on here

Kyla. Your post made me realise that I am coming up to 10 years in the Autumn too. Actually, when I say "I" I mean "we" since hubby uses my membership too.

WhenI joined, we had a small son and were tent campers. Now, we are on our 3rd caravan and have replaced our son with a dog! (Teenage son has outgrown caravanning for now).

We've gone from being towing novices, to towing our van up and down France. Always with plenty of discussion on here about where to stay, what kit to use, how to travel - and have met up with a few UKCS'ers in person along the way.

I don't come on here often now, but like to drop in from time to time. It's been great talking to you all for all these years.

Congratulations on your 10th birthday where does the time go? It is a great forum and where we asked so many questions in the early days and still do!

I remember Johno his posts were hilarious so sad that he passed away but he will be entertaining caravanners somewhere now.

Well, what do you know? It's my 10th this year too! Where does the time go?

Don't spend much time on Life in General, although I sometimes read some of the posts, but 1 person I remember is KiKi - Christine, who sadly passed away, I think it was last year. I didn't know her, but she came through in her posts as such a lovely and caring person, and carried on posting until not long before her death. Amazing lady.

Which goes to prove that even though a lot of us don't know each other, people do live on in our memories.

What lovely replies and memories. It was indeed Johno who kept us all amused, I have vague recollections of collapsing chairs and a large lady in one story. A fabulous story teller. I'm also sad to learn Christine has passed away. There are some amazing people on here, people we wouldn't otherwise have known about if it weren't for UKCS.

15 months since Kiki (Christine) passed on, can't believe it's been so long. I'm still in touch with her family and they STILL mention her love of this site.

Is it really 15 months.

I remember reading all her posts and how she stayed positive and enjoyed life right up to the end.She was a very courageous lady who is sadly missed.

First joined in 2004 the year after we started camping in;France. We realised having your own stuff was much more fun than hiring mobiles and fixed tents.

The Camping Abroad section has been a massive help. The advice and thoughts and general knowledge on all things camping in France are invaluable. It's good to give sommat back too. I also loved the Tents section, a real laugh. There's something to be said about tents being the real camping experience. I'm not giving up on our campervan though!

Thanks to the mods here and all the contributors over the years.

How time flies when you're having fun. I'm short for ten years as well. Don't know whether or not I'll be still around as much as I used to, though.
