At least she died quickly if that can be any consolation. I found a cat in my garden once that had been hit and managed to get to my garden where he'd died.
------------- Dogs die in hot cars!
They also die if you leave them in the freezer.
Please keep your dogs at room temperature!
Very sad for your loss, but the driver may not have realised that he/she ran it over.
I would stop, but some wont because they don’t want an argument with the owner. Cats usually run across roads and sadly they don’t use the green cross code.
You have every right to be proud of your kids, for acting in such a grown up way and for having such respect for your cat. Many kids these days don’t really care, and would simply put it in the bin
Good on your kids for giving the cat the loving send off it deserved

I know exactly how you feel, we lost our nineteen year old cat yesterday. He was fine on Tuesday but suddenly stopped eating and got weaker and weaker. A night at the Vets on a drip didn't help and we had to have the injection given to him. He is now buried next to our other cat in the garden. We are all very upset. Our thirteen year old grandson has never known life without him, we had had him from being a six week old abandoned kitten. We will all miss him, as you will miss yours.
Sorry to hear of your loss...It's never easy when they go in such circumstances...
But I like the positives in your post...
The burial you describe can only help you and the children in the grieving process...
In the woods at the rear of my house is a rock we call it Rambo's Rock in our house.. in memory of Rambo our 1st ever family pet who is buried there...And is the subsequent resting place for every small pet we have had over the years...
Family all grown up now..But I bet if you asked today they could tell you the name of every pet there...

RIP Flo,you had a lovely family xx,my dog Edson got run over by a drunk driver whilst on his lead, just missed me.This was Xmas,he never stopped and i had so much trouble carrying him home and asking people for a lift to the vets, even if he'd just offered a lift it would have helped, hugs and kisses,Julie,Ziva and Edson x
Thanks all, it's been a bit of an emotional weekend.
We're moving this Thursday so now we've had to explain to the kids that no, we will not be digging the cat up to take her with us!
It's awful how many cats go that way on the roads, Flo was the 2nd one we've lost in 13 years of living here so I suppose it's not too bad. I just regret doing the vacuuming on Friday, as she wouldn't have gone out if I hadn't started it up.
RIP all of our beautiful and sorely missed cats. And hugs to all the other cat lovers who have lost beloved pets in such a cruel way.
