Hmm, if I had a PO local to work I would be tempted to say to those in your circumstances to get your items delivered to me then I'd place a new delivery address over the top and send on by RM for say a fiver a time (per pick-up/re-address not per parcel).

Live halfway between Edinburgh and Dundee, so most companies ok with delivering here.

Mature-Student, a lot of us who do occasionally need to get stuff from firms charging ludicrous rates will be it delivered to mates on the "UK Mainland" but that only works if you're going to be meeting up with them fairly soon or they're handy for a PO near where they live, as you say. In general though, we just have a list of those who don't charge extra and avoid buying from them. If it's something we really need, then we try phoning or emailing firms asking about RM option - quite often lucky - but any that won't consider it go on the blacklist and are told so.

would it work out cheaper , putting your delivery adress to say , post office in oban , and collting it ftom there

Hi, Nathan, Oban isn't UK mainland either for many firms although I could collect from Tesco Oban. To collect from Oban from home would take a minimum return trip of six hours by public transport or five and 42 miles driving using car to ferry. That's about £11 costs on former option.
