I'd be concerned at leaving him too. He only has to mention on any social website he's home alone (or his mates do)and a party will probably be held whether he wants one or not.
It may end up as a quiet do but I wouldn't chance it.
Yes...kids did have more responsibilities a few years ago but we didn't have Facebook then.

We left our boys for the first time when they were 16 and 18. Our daughter, who was 14 had to come with us much to her dismay. We left them for two weeks. Used to ring them every evening. House was still standing and cat was still alive when we got back though first thing I had to do was vacuum through and clean the kitchen.
Only damage we had was when they had banged the lounge door handle into the wall and filled the hole with grout.

If he smells half as bad as my 15 year old lad, it wouldnt be fair on the dogs at the kennels. Why do teenage boys smell soooo bad??
