Nothing to stop you asking several local agents around to give you valuations and an indication of their fees. You can then compare the price of their fees against the online agencies charges. You can also use Rightmove/Zoopla etc to see how much houses similar to yours are currently on the market for - go and view them too if you want. When we used Housenetwork we used the valuations to decide on the asking price and paid a flat rate to Housenetwork to market it. They were very professional, took lots of photos, virtual tour etc Via their website we could also see how many people had viewed the house online, and whether they had downloaded a brochure. We had to carry out the viewings, but Housenetwork followed up the viewings for feedback. We saved several thousands of pounds and if I was selling again I would definitely use them again.
