It reminds me of the shame we felt taking our spaniel pup to her obedience classes - white gloss paint in the dark hair on one occasion; but another time she'd been swimming, wearing her new pink collar, and the colour had bled down her white chest. Day-glo spaniel, not a good look.

Talk about unrealistic expectations!

OH is a qualified, time served Painter and Decorator and used to get really annoyed at these progs.   He admitted he'd have been taken in if he hadn't been qualified. And it has done nothing for the reputation of proper decorators, why should they take so long when the ones on telly get it all done in an hour? And why so much prep? the ones on telly don't do it!

I seriously don't believe that all the work they do only takes an hour, even with so many people doing it. For one thing, how one earth can you paint walls and skirting boards then put carpet down immediately afterwards? Surely you'd end up getting paint on the edges of the carpet?

I decorated my son's room a few months ago, did all the painting one day then put the new carpet down the day after once the paint was dry. That programme must be very seriously edited to show all the work they do in just one hour.
