Surely if the address specified on the DVLA (renewal) form is entered EXACTLY, the correct site will come up?
Just a little care taken when entering the address will ensure that this happens....

I always renew mine on line and have never had a problem, I simply use the web address printed on the renewal form.
Renewed mine on Saturday at the Post Office - use 'em or lose 'em!
Internet is wonderful for some things but sadly can also be dangerous with some shady practices that can trap the unwary or inexperienced.
Reminds me too of these PPI claims agencies which take a cut of any repayment...for doing what the claimant could do themselves for the price of a stamp!
If you have autocomplete switched on in your browser, and these sites pay to be top of search results, your browser may actually suggest it as you type - as the address is close to the 'real' one (just got the .net bit on the end), you might not spot it. It's naughty, but legal - switch autocomplete off and type all addresses in yourself.
I think we need to remember not everyone is computer savvy.
Yes the OP missed all the obvious as many have pointed out and several others have jumped on the bandwagon to prove their computer literacy.
Strange how most are quite happy to repeat the same message to the OP....why???
I am sure you made the OP feel good about him/her self.
Fortunately some actually took the time to be non critical and give advice which is what I think the OP was hoping for..
Sorry for getting on my soapbox but it really p****s me off when some folk delight it telling us all how clever they are and in the process make others feel silly and wish they had never posted.

------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.
It is a fool who has to say something.
We always tax on line but I start by going into the government website, then branch off from there. Its always a worry if you get the wrong site, especially now there is this new security breach called Gameover Zeus

couldnt agree more!!
its an easy mistake to make, and when you are in a hurry even easier. I guess these companies will try their best for the next 6 months until the direct debit option comes in!
