Arran Aromatics lavender & tea tree hand lotion sooths the body and reduces the redness - OK for face but I prefer facial oils (Liz Earle again...). And I avoid shower gel & shampoo containing sodium lauryl sulphate. (The Liz Earle botanical shower gel doesn't have any.) (No, I'm not on commission...)

I have eczema and it normally flares up in the summer. So far touch wood, it's nothing like as bad as normal. Sorry for all you sufferers out there. It's miserable to live with, hard to sleep, sore itchy and horrible. When I get flare ups, I use a strong hydrocortisone. The weak ones are rubbish. Then as it dries up I use E45. Cheaper aqueous creams don't touch it..

my story even suprises myself.

I started with psorisis late 80's.
arms elbows and my shins...doc tried allsorts all to no avail, getting undressed i was like a sugar shaker.

a friend told me to get started and stay on a spoon of Manuka honey a day...it's from newzealand and you only have to google it to read of its antibacterial properties etc. its graded in numbers the higher the number the better the quality and strength... its also pricey. you pay about £15 for a jar of grade 10 and about £25 for grade 25
at the same time my daughter mentioned about her friends husband who was really thin on top, and had started taking hair/skin & nail supplement and said his hair had made an impressive recovery, and suggested me trying them to see if the skin part of the supplement might help me. not sure which one worked or if they both work together, but i am free of the dry itchy skin curse, and no more dandruff on my socks.
I have had to drop the Manuka honey because of financial restraints, but have replaced it with a good mashing of normal honey every day, and if my sugar level drops I reach for the honey and a good spoon full soon restores my system.

I am at this time totally free, and my nails are so tough and strong i think i could use them as screwdrivers if i had the need..LoL!

We use Manuka honey for medicinal purposes, it has got rid of a lump on OH's arm which the GP thought was cancerous (it wasn't), the honey applied to a plaster for a while did the trick.

It's cheaper to buy it online, I got 3 for the price of 2 but it lasts so long that I have forgotten where from. I must try the hair skin and nail supplement, may be able to ditch my wig! My nails are fine, it's just my hair, sigh...

They sell Manuka honey in Aldi for a lot less than the price in health food shops.

Yes! I'm sold on the Manuka honey, but I would like to stress that this combination worked for me, but please do not ditch youe creams enmasse or go against your docs advice.

I recon with the hair/skin/nails it may be approx 3 weeks before you start to see subtle changes, but as I have said these things are working for me.

Right now, on a morning when I comb my hair through, there is barely any loose/waste hair on the comb thankfully.
but before the use, I used to dispair at the steady hair loss,....which I attributed to taking statin medication.

Found some of the Manuka honey in Aldi will start taking a teaspoon a day from tomorrow.

It wasn't cheap at £3.49 but if it works what the heck - they were Wendy pounds in any event

Manuka comes in different strengths, not sure which the Aldi one is. You really need one which is 25 or more. 25 what I don't know.

It looks as if the what is the Non-Peroxide Activity (NPA) figure.

I cannot find one with a reading of 25+

They do a range of them here

Unfortunately the stuff I bought is this only in a squeezy bottle direct from Aldi

Doesn't look promising but I'll try it anyway.

My friends son had his foot and lower leg amputated and it hadn't healed 12 months later...they started using manuka honey on the dressings and it healed beautifully within a couple of months.

I've not had bad eczema for years, but I've started this year with it under my wedding & engagement rings...had to remove them it's so sore!
