Thanks everyone, really appreciate your input. I'm trying to find the Holy Grail of a "Family Car". Can't say I know of one that fit's in 100% to family life, but those I've considered build up an eclectic mix and I've listed them below, and my reason for dismissing them. No offence if you own any of them. It's a personal choice :-)
Volvo V70 Comfortable seats but dated interior
Volvo V50 Would suit 95% of needs but small boot
Qashqai Small boot
Nissan X-Trail Expensive running costs
Mondeo Estate Don't like the look of the interior
Grand Picasso Had one, lot's went wrong. £250 rear suspension fix
Octavia Estate. Good reviews, but look bland inside.
I seem like a fussy bugger, but I think an accord estate, although long, would be great for daily commute, after school clubs, camping and motorway trips to visit friends and family, Edinburgh, Kent, Cheshire etc.
I reckon my money will go on the Honda, and thanks for the link Alpiner, that pretty much swung it for me :-)
Have a great weekend, Blue Skies and Cool Beers
