Ooo, if a nice meal is on the card, I would highly recommend Pierre Koffman's restaurant at the Berkeley Hotel, or Marcus Wareing's Gilbert Scott or Tredwell's (both walkable distance from hotels around Russell Square).

Oh, ok then... I'll do it...
Silver wedding, Tracey? Surely there's been a mistake... No way do you look old enough to have been married that long!
Bless ya! It's the camping, good for the complexion and keeps you young

Hampton by Hilton at Waterloo brilliant value with free breakfast great location.
Hilton at angel
Hilton at canary wharf ( a bit out but great for 02)
Jury inn at angel aswell
I was watching tv the other day and Simon Calder said to do the sky garden in London instead of the eye (it's free but needs to be booked in advance)...can't do a link on my phone, sorry. I think he also said to take a day ticket on the number 11 bus rather than a proper tour as it took you the same route for a fraction of the cost.
We stayed at the Best Western Seraphine in Hammersmith Tracey when Hull got to the FA Cup Final. Really handy for the tube, easy to get to from Kings Cross, nice rooms, breakfast included. Was about £120 a night for the room as I recall.

If you want a bit quirky buy a book called secret London, some great things to do and see in there.
We now stay at the student digs, last time next to the Albert hall, 70 pounds a night. As good as a premier inn, at half the price. Then spend the savings on great meals.
The set menu at h&k is the best ever , about 5 nights room rate, or try the Greek meze in the rsteaurant near the regent street Hilton, 22 quid and you will never finish it....or there is one down in Bayswater near Moscow street.
