So if you go to the dentist and he says you need stuff doing, can you choose what you want done please?
I also have a phobia and am currently sticking a crown in with gel superglue, it lasts for sometime, but really need to get it stuck in properly, now I would like that done, but I don't want anything else done as I know I need work but I have no pain and am too worried about going if they make you have it all done.
I went to the dentist yesterday for a regular check up. I had an Xray and was told I had some decay that had got slightly worse since last year. I was offered the choice of leaving it or having it done. No brainer really as if I leave it no doubt it will cause problems at a most inconveneint time!!!
Re your crown. I am not really sure why you should be too worried about having it refitted as it must be a fairly simple job. Assuming they can reuse the original all they would do is clean up the area of the peg it fits on and remove any excess glue from within the crown. The trouble with DIY is that you could damage it which could cause more expense and additonal work on the original tooth.
Duffs. Make an appointment for a check up and crown reset. Get an estimate so you'll know the cost. If there is any work to do as a result of the check up you will not be obliged to have it done. At least then you'll know whether there is anything that is important.
As for phobia you shouldn't be worried. Try a different practice if you didn't get on well with your last one. However, you'll notice that a lot has changed if you haven't been for say 10 years.

Everyone should go to the dentist regularly, it's important for your general health. I had a crown refitted, no problem at all. Now I need another one as a filling came out last week, going tomorrow.
I have had a real phobia with dentists since a child. I found a really good dentist when I moved into the area I live in now.
He has moved practise 3 times over the years and now has his own practise.
I just moved practise when he moved, Fortunately he has not moved out of the general area where I live.
It does not bother me going to the dentist nowadays and before someone says it....I do still have my own teeth
