Well done all who are fighting the weight my GP said that trying to lose weight when you have type 2 diebeties so in away I am out to prove him wrong had salad today with pilchards and my favourite laughing cow extra light cheese David has made the slimming world cottage pie tomorrow I'm having syn free burgers with my salad
Well done Jackie on your weight loss. As a T2 diabetic Becarefull of the carbs, even low GI they can elevate your sugar levels. If sugar levels are high continually thus causes slow healing.
I have lost 3 stone myself, I just want to lose just another 1/2 stone then i would be happy, like you, i'm T2.
I did slimming world, that was before I developed diabetes, they relied so heavily on carbs and low and zero fat products which are packed with sugar and carbs.
Which would not suit me now as it would have too much effect in levels. How do you navigate your way through the potential pitfalls?

I have found Slimming World is the best way for me to lose weight. I am currently just off losing 2 stone (having previously lost almost 4 before going "off the rails").
I never feel hungry so long as I plan well ahead. I think you need to be able to be a reasonably competent cook for the diet to work and attending the classes every week is an added incentive.
My own favourite recipe is chicken and saag curry (made using the receipt from the Iceland packaging). delicious and freezes well too.
Yes the iceland burgers from slimming world are syn free I have bought some but haven't tried them yet,
Well done to everybody who is fighting the weight issue and are winning
Ooooh, I'm going to be a bit controversial here...I'm a weight watchers girl myself! I stick to the original points system and am doing well. I just couldn't get on with SW.
Congrats to everyone on their weight loss 😊
Hi To join in the general topic of weight loss.
I am a weightwatchers girl too.
Using my free 12 weeks for fatties that the nhs are promoting. I started to loose weight myself, but thought I should attend a class and choose weightwatchers ,can walk to the meeting and it fits in with what I think is right no food is a sin and balance carbs and lean proteins.
long way to go will be at least a year but we are doing it.....
Hi Heath63
I am careful with the low fat products because of the suger content and Debbie who runs our slimming world group is aware that low fat products can have high suger content there are four of us T2 in group

That's one of the reasons why I go for full fats products, fewer sugar and total carbs. It takes me so much longer shopping, as i read the labels to find the least total carbs!
