You can get a decent power breaker for £15 a day and do in minutes what would be hours work for a hammer and chisel.

Screwfix sell one for £60, then you've got it for the next job that comes along, and the next....

Well, the stud wall is half in*, ready for the newly positioned door - the door is on back order.

*I ran out of timber.

Had an 'incident' though, even after moving the lighting switch cables, I went and screwed through one of the cables I was covering with the armour shielding!

I was even watching where I was going, (checking all the time while screwing) so they settled, yet still managed to go through one!

Just angry with myself a bit because of doing that...

Anyway, the real reason why I'm posting (asking) is....

Does anyone have experience with Screwfix's Aqualux shower enclosures??

Any good, or run a mile...???

It's official....

I CAN'T plaster.....!!

Got all the walls stripped back to brick a while ago now, dot and dabbed new plaster board on ready for skimming...

Just tried this afternoon, and just can't do it...

I think I couldn't get it on the walls quick enough due to the general heat in the house as wood burners on now keeping the whole place toasty...

And two, I have a repetitive strain in both elbows giving me grief every 2 seconds....

Thought I was doing good getting this far, learning to solder joint all the newly installed plumbing and prepping the walls ready for a 'big push'*...

*Still having to work around her night shifts and my work..

I feel your pain!!

Our bathroom is currently undergoing a refit. Ceiling was a mess due to a bad paint job done by the company that 'repaired' damage due to an insurance claim. Tiles stripped out of our leaking shower cubicle and storm board [homebase aqua panel name] was being put in.You'd think that with it being a kit all would be fine, however I asked that if there was enough left over could the ceiling above the shower have the storm board placed there too. I knew that it would be done in 2 pieces, but that wasn't a problem.

However the joiner that was sent out didn't get that message, so i was slightly surprised that he announced there wasn't enough for the walls and that he had had to put two pieces on one wall I was gutted as the whole idea was that there'd be clean lines in the shower.

Had to send a pic to the boss and explained what had happened. He wasn't happy, and the joiner is to replace the panel at his own cost. Only problem is it was ordered specially and took 3 weeks the last time to arrive......so I currently have a half re-furbed, unusable shower....and no idea when the builders will return

Oh and my hubby hadn't wanted this done in the first place

My photos allow you to see what I saw at the time that I took it....No messing.

Just to add, we had a plasterer on 'stand by'...

He said have a go...

If it fails, just give me a ring....

So last night, tried to ring him 'several' times...

NO ANSWER!!!!!

He's even the OH's dads mate, so don't know what will be said when they meet....???
