Use Google Map with a smartphone if you do not intend to travel outside of UK - it is very good!
I looked at getting a combined sat nav and dash cam for my van when I go to Europe, so that I have one less appliance requiring a socket to plug into.
I did not find one that ticks all the boxes for a sat nav as well as a dash cam.
In addition, I realised the mounting location for a sat nav will be significantly different to that of a dash cam, with the former closer to me, and the latter higher up for a better view.
I shall get a sat nav when I go to France later this year, most likely to be a Tom Tom as I had Tom Tom in the past before I switched to Google Map with a good 4G smartphone a few years ago.
