Where Bournebrook CL is located is right at the other end of the A453 therefore the easiest route with a caravan in tow is to exit the M42 at junction 10 (A5/Tamworth). Continue along the A5 dual carriageway and take the 4th exit (A453/Sutton Coldfield). At the junction turn left and straight on at the traffic lights then Bournebrook Farm is about half a mile on the right.

I live quite local (about 4 miles away) so very familiar with the roads in this area so the advice given is the best choice of route out of the two. I don't know where you are heading off to afterwards but the place to avoid is the A51 from Tamworth to Lichfield as there is a narrow canal bridge at the 'Tame Otter' pub and a fairly steep long up hill drive after that which is okay if it's clear but sometimes vehicles are parked on the nearside which means that you have to give way to oncoming traffic resulting in a dramatic hill start.
Hope the information has been useful and have a safe journey.

Thanks, going to Welshpool next so I think A5 and A460 to get on M54, unless you know a better way? Don't mind using M6 toll.

Yes that's the way I'm going when we go to Shrewsbury later in the year. Turn left out of the campsite and back to the traffic lights then turn left. That takes you back onto the A5 then at the next roundabout get on the M6 Toll there and leave at junction T8 (A460/Wolverhampton -Telford M54). Follow signs for M54 west which continues on the A5.

Mrs. Bonce. I have been down to visit Bournebrook Farm today to have a look but there was no C&MC or C&CC sign at the entrance. The 5 van site is still there with electric points so I went to the farm to make a general enquiry regarding the pitch fees as it would be ideal for us to sterilise the water barrels and system etc. before the start of the season. The lady who I spoke to at the bungalow said the 5 van site is now closed and when I said I know due to Covid I asked when is it going to be reopened. She replied saying it wasn't as it's permanently closed so maybe new farm owners, I don't know. She went on to say that it may still be listed in the book so my advice is to ring up and confirm these facts first to save a wasted journey as you may need to find an alternative CL for your stop over.

Thanks, that's a shame. We are between a rock and a hard place going northwest as we have to find somewhere before the M6 toll, a bit too close, or after it, a bit too far. Thought it would be ideal.

If you are members of the Camping & Caravanning Club then there is a certificated site just off junction 9 of the M42 called 'Reindeer Lodge Park' which would be an alternative en route.
A bit expensive at £24.00 per night but here is the link below if you want to contact the campsite for further details.

You could consider staying for just one night instead of two to break up your journey which would work out roughly about the same price. I was trying to find a CL that wasn't too far off the beaten track from the motorway network that's all.

I know the Tamworth area well and by far the easiest way from where you are is M1, M6 and M42 to Junctions 9 or 10 as Tango55 has suggested.

The nicest site I know of (though not a CS) is C&CC at Kingsbury Water Park, for which leaving the M42 at J9 is the more direct route. I don't know the prices though.

To continue to Welshpool, the best way is to stay on the A5 through Cannock and to turn left at the next traffic light junction (signed Four Ashes Industrial Estate) after about a further 3 miles. This road takes you straight to the A449 dual carriageway, turn left onto that and it's a straight run down to J2 of the M54. Hopefully this link will work!
