Are trousers below the knee shorts or longs?

I usually get my shorts out when my trousers start sticking to my knees and can't see the point in shorts that go below the knee. Might just as well roll your trousers up by a few inches

I can visualise my dad now, sitting in a deckchair on the beach with his trousers rolled up, his shirt sleeves rolled up, and a knotted hankie on his head

I dislike the so called "shorts" sold in shops as they should be known as short longs. Shorts should end at least 4" above the knee and not below it! I normally have to take my shorts to be shortened. Why are men in the UK too embarrassed to show a bit of leg. LOL!

As some one whose legs are for ladies to swoon over, noted for their form and grace. I tend to buy my shorts from either Craghoppers or Rohan.

Your husband would look so dapper when wearing them ( they also improve satellite reception)

My husband likes denim shorts but thought the ones we saw in a few places earlier in the summer were too short. I had a look in his wardrobe and found a couple of pairs of older jeans that he doesn’t wear any more and which had frayed at the hem and I cut the lower leg off and stitched a hem. He now has some shorts which are exactly the longer length he wanted.
