I'm on lercandipine? at the moment but I expect it will change at my next review.

I was getting headaches which I put down to eye strain but I think they were more related to high blood pressure and they are few and far between now.

Brewers droop is not a major issue for me, it just takes a bit more to get going! It has been a side effect on at least three of the bp meds that I have been on but it is no reason not to take them if needed. If it is a side effect it is important to speak to your GP and under no circumstances take anything such as viagra without medical consultation.

Thank you birder99. That is very helpful.

I will see if I can improve things over the next few months. If I'm not getting the desired results then I will speak to my GP. With a bit if luck I may even be able to speak to one face to face!

Thank you all once again for your very helpful and interesting comments.

I take Ramipril 5mg and amlodopine 5mg daily. I am 67 and also diabetic.
It took a lot of trial and error to get the dose just right and now my BP holds steady at just the high side of normal. The dose is low so I am not too concerned at the moment and neither is the doc.

Although it is very right to say never take anything without a GPs approval, according to mine Viagra was first developed as a treatment for high blood pressure and is fine in my case.    Who would have thought it?
