I would presume the manager/ staff are only allowed to reserve so many, in this case two? Guessing staff drew lots as to who got one. They must surely have to have some available to the public, otherwise as you say, they'll all have gone before they open.
This happened to me a couple of years ago with something I wanted. I was first through the door at 9am opening time but couldn't find the item anywhere, on asking the manager I was told they'd sold out! So either they had none in the first place or the staff had nabbed them all - I wasn't impressed, told the manager exactly what I thought, and haven't been back since.

My son has just bought OH a Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet from Tescodirect (delivered to local store) for £99.99. They are selling them for £119.99 and if you add code TDX-NHW4 takes £20 off. Thought it a very good price.

Thanks, will probably try that. Even though it's my Christmas present, OH won't learn to use the computer, he's even worse than me!
Thanks, just remembered that but now so confused I think I will stick with my laptop! I don't actually NEED a tablet (I will need a lot if I get any more confused!) I still don't know if these cheap ones will work with just a dongle as I have no intention of buying a smartphone just so I can use a tablet (hardly use my existing mobile).
back to the original point ,I have a Google Nexus 7 Just been to Fuerterventura and took it with me using the hotel WIFI easy to send and receive EMails with it. I can tether it to my I Phone 4S using either the built in WIFI or Blue tooth my daughter has the Tesco Hudl and at £119 it is a very good 7 inch tablet with the advantage of a Micro SD card slot to expand the memory by up to 32 Gigs, it is every bit as good as the Nexus 7.People who saw at the hotel where impressed when they compared it to there I Pads. I have not seen any that you can plug a Dongle in to to,
Would suggest you go to somewhere like PC world and ask to try some.
Thanks, oh well, If I can't use my dongle then they are a no go for me. Maybe one day I will get a smartphone....and by then I suppose technology will have moved on again.

Go to Tesco and buy the Hudl then if you don't like it you can take it back and you will know that Tesco will have these in stock.
There are some excellent offers on the original kindle fire which easily browses the web and collects emails. Your dongle sim card will work in a mifi unit which will allow internet access for several devices at the same time. This comes in your price range and you can read books the rest of the time.
My daughter has a kindle fire hd and it is a great device, but amazons software rules out going on google play store. There are ways around but they are complex.
