As you get older it's getting an intreview which proves difficult. The employer can assess your age range from your CV and your employment history listed on it so if you get an interview, they are interested.
If you are going into an interview looking at your feet because you are self-conscious about your hair then you are shooting your chances down from the outset. If you are self-conscious then have a No. 2 or 3. It lessens the visual impact.
To dye or not to dye? Google John Madejski to get the answer to that one.
I've been grey for about 7 years.....since I was 40!
Mostly back and sides, with a few 'bits' on top.....
so I get the back & sides shaved, and keep the top short, neat and tidy. I use a little bit of fibre gel stuff to give it a bit of a messy look (not too outrageous - that would be plain silly!!) and I'm good to go!
It's a bit like that bloke off of the Great British Bake Off, without the expense and style.... !!
It means I'm not reminded I'm grey every time I look in the mirror, and keeps me feeling (almost) young.....
but don't dye it!! Neat hair cut, in whatever style you choose, is a much better option.

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about....?
If you think it will improve your chances of getting the job then go for it. Unfortunately lots of people employ on appearance, like it or not.ive always gone to town on my appearance. And even dropped weight to improve my chances of bagging a job. Once you have the job go back to grey.

Keep it tidy, keep it natural... and keep it held high! Good luck!
Are you suggesting I lack confidence?
I'm suggesting that MAYBE, some folk who deliberately hide their greys with black (in particular) MAY be seen BY SOME as being under-confident, or even a little introverted, yes!
I'd also venture to suggest that anyone dying their hair purple, or "Midsummer Plum" or whatever it's called, simply because they are a fun loving animal, would be seen as "quite the opposite".
Which one are you? You decide!!
