Thanks all. Social networking has really saved the day, it's believed the thieves dumped her when her disappearance became so high-profile in the area. Everyone has been absolutely FANTASTIC!
She is now home and a bit withdrawn, but unharmed physically. We're all overjoyed.
The wonderful lady who had the sense and courage to rescue her from the 2 scumbags who were throwing rocks at her is just an inspiration, isn't she? Her quick thinking and generosity has just saved the day. A real star (and yes, she'll be getting more than her £20 back, if we have anything to do with it!).
Thanks to to the lady who saw her being taken and immediately posted information - including the partial registration number of the van - on Facebook. The thieves may have dumped Cassie (not yet sure if she was sold or dumped, but it looks like the latter) but - thanks to the quick thinking of this lady - the police now know who the owner of the van is. I hope they get what's due to them!
Thanks too, to everyone on here who offered invaluable advice, which surely helped to bring her home.
The lady who rescued her hadn't seen notices about her theft, but the vet she took her to had. Wonderful!
What an absolute relief, to have her back.

Yes, she's amazing.
It's all quite amazing in fact; it Cass hadn't got out at that precise moment, those awful people wouldn't have seen and taken her. Likewise, if the lady who took the reg of the van (most of it) and posted it on FB, we wouldn't have known what had happened and the thieves might not have dumped her.If the perfect rescuer hadn't been in that precise spot, at that particular moment, and seen the two smackheads throwing rocks at Cassie, then acted the way she did to save her, it could have been a very different ending.
It's a bit like, the worst of luck and the best of luck, all rolled into one story. Or, the worst of human nature versus the best. And, the best won the day!
I can't get over what that wonderful lady did for Cassie, with perfect judgement and timing. What an absolute star!
We're all still feeling totally overwhelmed. Cassie is back to her usual self today, and enjoying lots and lots of cuddles!
xx
