Yep, things have definitely changed, it was always the plan that for us, for Mrs Francais to have reached State Pension at 60, of course now as I am a year older than Mrs Francais I will be the first to reach State Pension age at 66.
The irony of it all is that I will probably still have my job, whilst Mrs Francais may well still be looking for work, until she reaches State Pension age.
While I can see why you girls feel miffed at this you could have it worse.
You could of been a man . We've had 70 yrs of men having to work 5yrs longer than women until they could retire, only to die on average 7years earlier than women.😱
Fair point Ste, but in this modern age, State Pension age should have been reduced to 60 for both men and women.
When you reach 60 you then have the choice to either remain in work or take retirement.
Many of course would take retirement, as many would be out of work in anycase into there late 50's so the State Pension then becomes a life boat.
Don't anyone give me this rubbish that the Govt can't afford a State Pension age of 60 for all.
They soon find billions to fight war's and keep the Nuclear Deterrent etc, so a few billions on making State Pension age 60, would be just a drop in the ocean, in the great scheme of things.
Once again we the people are all being royaly shafted, during this short life that we all have.
