We had ours done last year. Removed topsoil, geotextile membrane, type 1 sub base, then 20mm shingle.

Ours is 7m x 6m and cost us about £500 as we only paid for materials. A good buddy drove the mini digger and transit tipper for nowt.

Didn't have a dropped kerb as it's £1800 plus council fees. Dont need planning permission just highways consents.

Dropped kerb can be done later on.

Doesn't that mean anyone can just park across your drive as there is no drop kerb ?

Ours is block paved, which comes up nice with the jet washer. Only downside is the weeds growing between the bricks, so we just treat it at least once a year with Pathclear, which does the trick. About £15 for a large box big enough to cover the whole area.

Neighbours had imprinted concrete drive done about 15 years ago and it developed surface cracks and a sort of white sheen on the black finish so looks a bit scrappy now. Cost a lot more than the block paving too.
