Me neither as wife waiting for surgical procedure(s) following dislocated shoulder joint and complete snapping of all shoulder cuff tendons. Three month wait for each procedure with first some 10 weeks away following which a further 3 month wait for last procedure by which time cuff tendons will have deteriorated to the stage when they will be inoperable. Best case scenario is a severance of the nerve that supplies cuff tendons which may? reduce pain level. So not getting away this year, if at all. My beautiful crappy caravan may have to be sold. This is all because the appointment system in hospitals is carried out by men in black suits with the obligatory 3 month minimum wait from one appointment to the next or seemingly older patients. Old Age is the devil I am afraid as a younger person we know with same injury has been completely treated with repairs done within 3 weeks of the injury.
That is utterly ridiculous. I'm so sorry for your wife - she just be in agony. Have you asked to be referred to any of the other hospitals up here? You could ask for Glasgow or Edinburgh in the hope for a quicker appointment. You're right about the appointment system - it's hopeless. I'm 42 and I have a rotator cuff injury to my left shoulder. I waited for 9 months to see a physio and when I phoned to enquire about this wait, I was told I would unlikely be seen within the year! So I've had to borrow money from my mum to go privately. I'm also on a 12 month waiting list to see Community Mental Health - I'm 7 months into that, and I would actually need to attempt suicide to be seen. That's how bad it is.
I really hope your wife get her op soon and mends well. Xx

Got to agree with you mist erg. Caravaning was more fun back then, when you would leave home on a morning not knowing where you would spend the night. We only decided which direction to take when we reached the bottom of our street, left for Scotland and right for Southern areas, seemed to add more freedom and adventure.
We were the same with the tent, quite often not sure where we were going until we got there.
One time we set off to travel south, but after sitting in a traffic jam on the A1 we turned off and went to the Lake District instead. In those days you could just turn up at most camp sites without booking. Electric hook-ups did not exist so there were no marked-out pitches.

Never go out on pubic holidays give the motorhome a spring clean and a wax ( hard to do when disabled) takes a while but get there in the end.
Bought a new gadget the other day it is a large syringe type that you suck your wash wax up and on the end it's like lambs wool no bending and it take a lot less time it's about 3ft long reaches top of van then clean water wash sooooo quick bought from local garden centre about £15 well spent
