so sorry to hear about your sister in law Mrs Bonce. Its took me two days to be able to reply as ovarian/peritoneal cancer is too close to home. My mother in law (61) was diagnosed in June with ovarian cancer, had the planned op on the 26th June which was unsuccessful (tumours spread to bowel, omentum etc). The surgeon only managed to take a small amount of the disease away and couldnt get to the ovarys due to the extent of the disease. She had her 1st chemo in hospital, we have been told very little by drs despite asking lots of questions. One even said they werent sure if it was ovarian or peritoneal cancer (and that it didnt matter ultimately!) She came home for 5 days before her wound burst and she spent the next 6 weeks in hospital with a small bowel fistula. Shes home now and well in herself but hasnt been able to have any more chemo as she has an open abdominal wound which has to heal. Her prognosis is poor and the more the chemo is delayed the more we as a family worry. I am going with her on Thursday to her next appt and intend to ask lots of questions as we all feel we dont know whats going on. Its a truely horrible cancer, I feel so sad for your brother and nephew xxx
