The thing I don't understand is that you never meet a dog owner who doesn't proclaim to  be disgusted by people who don't pick up so who do they think is doing it??

Perhaps its the people who scuttle past not speaking or making eye contact.

It must be shame that makes them behave in such an unsociable manner ---I wish

Stick and flick - I think that this may me suggested in country parks, where they ask you to either pick up the poo, or flick it to somewhere inaccessible. Here it would compost down naturally.   I would perfere to pick up - especially as fresh poo can be quite soft and wouldn't flick that easily.    Also with the amunt that Comet can prodice it would be far quicker to pick it up.
Many poo bags are now biodegradable - so the will rot down.

This is one of those things thats allways puzzled me ! Why would you pick up dog cr at p in a bag then not despose of it properly . Leaving it onatural is nasty but bagging it and leaving it is just mental . One thing a really hate is the way some dog owners let there dogs go to the toilet just at the start of paths and never clean it up so for 200 yards its eyes down and watch were you put your feet ! Nice

Before I got my little neoprene dog poop carry bag, when on the beach Darcy did his business I used to pick it up and put it in my coat pocket until we got to the bins - lovely hand warmer on a cold day24

One day I had just put him back on his extendable lead and thought I would throw his tennis ball one last time - unfortunately for me I threw it a bit further than the length of his lead, by the time he got to the end of his lead he was at full spaniel speed and it took me right of my feet flat to the ground, kissing the sand24 - that in itself was embarrasing, but the worst was yet to come, as I walked a little further on, a rather strong smell was coming from me - the poop bag in my pocket had burst and...... my car keys were in the same pocket2424.

Fortunately I have a bottle of spare water in the car and was able to unlock the car using the keyfob through my coat - washed the keys off, folded the coat up and left the beach in a hurry, with head down in shame24

I still pick up my dogs poop24

If people can't pick up their dogs poo then they shouldn't own a dog unless someone else walks it for you and is prepared to pick up the poo..
Its all part and parcel of owning a dog.

My wife was walking our Border Terrier in the park about 20 yds from our house when she saw a large Labrador which was off the lead doing its business, the owner was one of the "look the other way brigade"..

When he made his way along the footpath towards my wife she asked him if he had not noticed his dog having a poo.
He came right up to her face and stated that it had done it on the grass so he didn't need to lift it!!!!
So he did know, just turned a blind eye..

My wife pointed out that the local kids were playing football around the same area and did he not think it was inconsiderate and that dog poo should be picked up wherever possible..

He told her to mind her own b****y business right up to her face again, so she told him to wait a couple of minutes and she would nip home and get her husband (me) and he could threaten me instead of a woman.

Needless to say when I got there he had disappeared. So basically he was a big lazy lump who was a tough guy when threatning women. He has not been seen in the park since, that was about 6 months ago.

Sadly dog pooh will forever be a matter of dispute amongst people. Those that are disgusted by it left unpicked and those dog owners that are either too lazy or too disgusted by it that they cannot pick it up.

There is no answer. Cat pooh - ok apparently. Horse pooh - ok apparently. Dog pooh - yuk.

There is a lovely woods near us that we used to walk around but it is so covered in dog poo now that it is disgusting to walk around and not healthy for the children. It actually stinks on a hot day there is that much poo all over the place. At both entrance/exit points there are dog poo bins so there is no need for this lovely area to have been spoilt so badly by the inconsiderate few
