I am so glad OP started this thread, it is heartwarming to hear everyones contributions are helping others. Daily I meet people who are surprised by the support that is out there and who are beginning the process of realising they are not alone. There's still a long way to go in terms of support and advice but it's improved a lot in recent years. The Council Tax Disregard form is one of the easiest forms to complete, for anyone who has filled in the Blue Badge Form or Attendance Allowance you will know how complicated and long winded they are. In my area Age UK will come and help you fill in Attendance Allowance Applications, although this may not be country wide but they will know where you can obtain support,the DWP will also provide help.
