Great news from the Olympics for residents in east London

Here are some of the local residents. 21st Century Britain.

The athletes flats will be used for housing after Olympics and have just been sold. There will be a mix of "affordable housing" and luxury flats. Wonder what they mean by "affordable housing" with housing benefit cuts in london? So I clicked on the link for "affordable housing in the report and it took me straight to an advert for luxury cruises. now that's affordable!

Time will tell in relation to the use of the athletes flats......would be nice if some of the local residents got a decent flat out of the deal

However, when the question asked is just what have the parts of the country beyond the London area got it doesn’t look like a lot. In Surrey, with respect, you will see the benefits. Now, if the venues for the Games had been spread around the regions we may also be seeing the benefits. Perhaps that is why, out in the "deep dark areas of the country" there is a feeling of being "left out and unaffected"

Yes good news.

For the duration of the olympics, Tesco and other supermarkets open at 9am on a Sunday instead of the usual 10 am. A bonus for me as I have to do my elderly mother's shopping then go and do her garden, I can get started earlier and get finished earlier!
