That must be my yeast that I ordered last month and still not arrived!

Apologies again for my last post. Somehow a link I posted has disappeared!

If anyone is shaking their head and wondering what the hell I am going on about it's this:-

The population of Oddmorden, sorry, Todmorden, will probably greet you with open arms as they don't believe what they are being told.

Come to Todmorden.

Please note the name of the co-writer and editor of the Examiner as I feel it is quite apt.

Hope your yeast turns up, I ordered this a week ago on 7th May.

Well maybe a bit of reverse-psychology. At least I know now one place to avoid for the foreseeable future!

I have no faith or trust in this government either, but then again I don't believe in taking unnecessary risks either. This thing is world-wide. If anything I believe this government is underplaying it and the Welsh and Scottish have got it right.

Unfortunately many people are regarding the partial lifting of restrictions as a green light to do anything they want. There are reports of cars lining the seafront at Hampshire beaches parking on double yellow lines because the car parks are closed, and no social distancing.

I suspect that there will be a new spike and I also suspect that might be one reason why the government has lifted some of the restrictions so they can prove the lock down was correct and that it should continue for a long time yet. It may also prove to the unfortunate ones that they should have followed the government's rulings.

We only have to look at New Zealand who now believe that their harsh lock down has eradicated the virus from the country. Early days yet but they have lifted most of the restrictions now.

I said right at the start that we should have done as New Zealand did. If we had it would probably largely be over here by now.

I have had deliveries from Tesco and Asda, On the whole I prefer Tesco, This weeks order came from Tesco and they delivered everything we wanted, even self raising flour. I shop for three families, ourselves, our elderly neighbour who has received the vulnerable letter and friends who are in their eighties.I have a big problem though because of the 80 item limit.Everytime I book a Tesco delivery I also book an Asda Click and collect for the following Tuesday. This is for items we couldn’t put on the Tesco list.
I have decided to just use Asda now because of this even though I prefer Tesco. Tesco also give me an invoice Asda don’t .
On the whole though I consider myself very lucky.Even though I am eighty one I am tech savvy and able to work out when slots become available.I have managed to get a slot every week and now have a recurring slot at Asda.
Shopping for three families takes a while as everything is wiped down when it arrives, We then use last weeks bags to put our neighbours and friends orders in.We then deliver them after working out the bill for each household. All very worthwhile though as our friends and neighbour are so grateful.
