I was quite pleased when my new car (back in 2017!) came with a DAB Radio as standard, that joy didn't last long, the reception is awful with stations dropping out completely all to frequently and plenty of 'glitches', thankfully it's also got FM, so that's what I mostly use. 6 years on and the car radio is the ONLY DAB radio I own ..... now why would that be I wonder!
As to phone Apps, some are brilliant (but NOT all!). I recently received a refund from my water company because on the old fixed tariff I had effectively been overcharged for my usage compared with the recently installed metered tariff. My joy at getting money back from a utility company waned when it sank in they'd sent me a cheque!
It's years since anyone gave me a check, and my Bank has shut down most of it's local branches, so I was left wondering how do I pay this into my account these days, visions of trekking many miles to find a still open Bank branch coming to mind and not filling me with joyful thoughts!
A visit to my Bank's web site revealed unbeknown to me that my phone Banking App allows me to pay in cheques to my account! Use App to take photo of front and back, enter amount in a box, click 'process' and Bobs your Uncle, all done, if cheque doesn't bounce then money in account before end of next working day - bloody brilliant! And it worked flawlessly! Got to say I'm impressed, not sure what I'd be feeling/saying if it'd failed though! - have a very chequered history with phone Apps working as they should!
