I agree with everyone what a stunning series!
Points that come to mind;
The other murder: they knew who did it just couldn't convict because of the theft of the pendant.
Loved the way Ellie told Susan Wright that she had to have known and then Ellie didn't when it was her family & Beth said exactly the same thing to her. Just goes to prove that no one really knows anyone else after all Beth didn't know Mark was having an affair & Beth & Mark didn't know about her daughter's boyfriend.
Loved Beth making the comment about Tom being strange the last few months, that'll come back to haunt her.

I thought the show was so well written and acted by all. Chris Chibnall was the writer and I looked him up & of course he was a writer on Dr Who during the time of David Tennant.
If it comes back as Broadchurch it'll have to be set in Broadchurch so that rules out Ellie Miller doesn't it?

Also David Tennant's character has been medically retired now. Hum!!! Would it be the same without those two as they were outstanding.

Have always been a David Tennant fan but this show was more than just him.

Next series - same name because that was their origins (so to speak).

Olivia Colman plays Ellie as a detective in another town with a difficult case to solve. David Tennant kept in touch with her and comes in as a private eye, still suffering with his health but not so bad because its no Police work and the pressure is not so bad.

OR

Ellie is assigned to try to solve the other murder, and gets help from David Tennant as PI.

Any one any other theories??
