I'm a pensioner too, and think we should pay for our bus passes. Just a modest amount for a year, but that would add up too. I read a snippet about the huge amount the Government has made from folk paying for International Driving permits in case we need them after Brexit, and they were only some £3.50 or so each.

I think they are so used to talking in billions that they forget the basics of good housekeeping.
