I hope Hazel really enjoyed her time running her stage of the Olympic relay - I would have loved to have seen some of it - but with work and extra duties this has not been possible.

Hi Louise,
Yes we have had a very hectic happy day. We have a wonderful cottage on Anglesey where the family has been staying and Hazel has had a wonderful day and she did have some hugs from the Police and also the Opera singer Bryn Teryfl (who is now her best friend) There are so many photos coming through and I am not so good at sorting them out. Also we are all very tired tonight and she has an interview tomorrow morning early and also she is taking part in Jeremy Vines BBC2 show tomorrow between 12 and 2pm. We were at the end to meet her and I have put a short video on You Tube which will have a go at putting on.

Its been a couple of the most memorable days of my life. It has all been brought about from the death of my grandson Darren which was the most tragic day of my life. It has made my daughter a much stronger person but if we could have Darren back we would give everything back. However he has been with us all every step of the way and Hazels next big challenge is climbing Kilimanjero in July. She has already achieved her major challenge of raisng money to have a skate park built in his memory and the second one will be opened on June 10th on the other side of Bangor. The money she raises from her Kilimanjero climb will be divided between a childrens hospice -Hope House and helpng the youth in Bangor find jobs etc. I am SO proud of her.
