Hi all, i have been looking into how i could make a little extra money and have come accross Comping (entering lots of online competitions) and Surveys (paid approx £1 - £6 each).

I just wondered if anyone had every tried any of these and had some sucess or if should stay well away?

Hi, thanks for replying - from having a look you get a number of credits for each survey you fill in which can be exchanged for vouchers or cash when you reach a certain point.

I dont think they involve phoning people and i wouldnt want to do that anyway as i know how annoying they are!!!

Oh I fell for this a few years ago, stupid ass that I was, I even paid a joining fee, to ensure I got on all the top survey sites etc!  Well it's nigh on impossible to earn real cash, you get credits, & it would take years to turn it into money.

The surveys are soooooooooooo boring & long winded, & often upon completion you find it's closed so your time etc was for nothing.

I was not into hi tech phones, DVDs, films, gadgets, etc so that eliminated me from many surveys.

Seriously don't waste your time, & do not pay for the privallage like I did!  Keep well away is my answer

I've been doing YouGov surveys for aaaaaages - eventually I will have enough points to get £50 from them, but it's taking forever and they only invite me to do one or two surveys a week. I signed up for another survey site and never seemed to fit the right profile to be selected for any of their surveys (either too old, too young, don't have kids, don't shop in the right shops, don't buy the right products, don't work in the right industry... urgh!).

We've had better success using a cashback site (think it's TopCashback) - we got something like £80 cashback when we took out our home insurance. We'd get a lot more money out of it if i remembered to log into the site before buying stuff on Amazon though!
