ABTA is not insurance and would not 'cover' anything that went wrong, so don't be fooled by the ABTA logo. Full protection can only really be offered via ATOL and other insurance policies.

ATOL usually refers to air travel organisers, usually companies that have their own airlines, airlines themselves etc

ABTA relates to travel agents....ie sorting out holidays/packages etc

Confusion often arises when a company applies to be part of both bodies as it falls into both catagories.  In reality either accreditation would give the same level of protection to a UK traveller (depending on what you were seeking to claim.....eg:- neither would cover a hotel if the airline went bust UNLESS they were booked as a package).  Neither will cover for things like illness etc whilst on the trip.

Thanks again for all your help , i think i will book with them as most have said positive things about the company, will let you know when i do.
