Called twice to see if someone had handed in a set of keys lost... it costs 15p per call, plus 20% VAT at the end of the month when I get the bill.
This really annoyed me, I know it's only 15p x 2 but if I could just call the relevent office through a standard phone number it wouldn't cost me anything! And I wouldn't have to go through a call centre. GRRRR.
When I phoned the local number (still fortunately available on t'internewt) they told me to dial 101 next time and gave me an extension number! I wish they had warned me it would cost though.
I phoned 101 recently to report a caravan and car with different reg numbers Because we were in a bad reception area for the mobile we kept getting cut off So consequently I got charged 3x 15p

I refuse to use premium phone numbers,( the great British rip-off's) the police I'd use 999 if I needed them, but I check www.saynoto0870.com to see if there is a ordinary number, they have quite a lot Jock
Jock I'm the same, if a company have a premium number (even 0844/5) then they don't get my business. I have used that website but not all companies are on there
