Thinking of getting one for oh. As I know nothing about them, can anyone give me pointers as to what I should look for in buying one.
And any companies they recommend in the shropshire or West Midlands area.
Thanks.
Stannah seems to be the best or one of the best chair lifts and expensive, suppose u only get what you pay for.You can get a chair lift fitted by the social work here so im told but dont know about England.Sent you an email Jusy
You can get them fitted by the authorities, Judy have you had an occupational therapy assessment done? You need to get them in and discuss and then it gets referred. We waited 14 months to have a downstairs wet room put in here as we had to wait for a new financial year due to funding issues with our local council.
Look on ebay my boss's MIL had a Stannah one in her house before going into a home, he removed it and put on ebay along with other items......... sold for £75. A guy from poland drove over paid cash and took it back. I know that it would need to be fitted by proffesional but it will probably work out a lot cheaper than a new one

A bath or shower is not deemed necessary by our peeps in Somerset. If you were strip washed for the rest of your life that is sufficient! We paid for a weekly bath at an acquaintance's nursing home meantime.
Mad and inhuman but then again for 5 weeks in the summer the hospital didn't have time to bath her whilst she was in either! I begged them to, offered to do it myself but no, no nurses available.
Hi Judy, Ali is right - the authorities will fit them for you, and you might not have to wait that long. If you get the occupational therapist out, he or she should be able to arrange it for you.
When they rehoused me, when I was first diagnosed, they had the stair lift fitted before I moved into the new house.
The company that deals with mine is called Lift Able, they have great customer support, and it gets serviced every 6 months. They do sell them too, if needs be.
Doesn't the company supply stair lifts that you bought the scooter from? If not then why not try the website I gave you before when you asked about a mobilty scooter.
