Gutted......
We're due to go on our first weekend away in the new bell tent and the forecast is rubbish.......
Do we risk it???
At the moment I'm outvoted 2 to 1, but we're watching the forecasts.
Really want a weekend away, but it's supposed to be fun and relaxing...and how long will it take to dry it all out!!!!!

With the weather the way it is at the moment you really have a 'lets go at the last minute' outlook. Keep watching the weather, it is changing by the hour, and if it looks dry enough go for it.

However, if it is going to make you miserable and constantly on edge it really isn't worth it. As you say you go away to relax.

There's no such thing as wrong weather, just the wrong tent and clothing!

No sign of it changing much looking at the 10 day forecast..June looks like being a total washout.

Now who was it that mentioned hosepipe bans.

We've been in Abersoch since Saturday. Came feeling really fed up about the dreadful forecast as we drove in driving rain. After days of rain it had stopped by the time we arrived and from Sat afternoon till yesterday about 3 we've had wonderful weather - been BBQing, walking on cliff top, country lanes and beaches and had some lovely lunches in beer gardens. Every day had been a poor forecast. Glad I didn't stay home! Mind you - wet windy and cold now thought and I'm in a warm, dry caravan!

Well we survived!!!!!

We had some rubbish weather on Sat and retreated to a pub for the evening.....

Very heavy rain and strong winds caused us some trouble. The rain started to drop through the stitching of the zig!!!!
I put loads of seam sealer around here but it only slowed it down....lucky the rain eased off later!

I'm not sure if this was due to the way we pitched it or a fault???

The way I look at things is that I will go, because the forecast could be wrong and I can have lovely weather as has happened.
I can have a mixed bag of weather, whereby I make the most of the good weather and find things to do in the wet, even if it is just sitting inside reading, without thinking that I really ought to put a load of washing on.
OR if need be I can always come home early like I did the other week, when it had rain constantly and then the strong winds started ripping pegs out of the ground faster than I could peg down, so we packed up and came home.   OK I lost the pitch fees that I had paid, but we were on holiday, not some sort of endurance test and we had all had enough.   The rain hadn't even stopped long enough to get a decent walk in and although we all had waterproofs it was so cold and miserable it just didn't inspire.

It's so difficult to plan, we were dodging the storms on Sat. and then on Sun we were sat by the lake watching the trout jump for the damsel flys!!!!

Just got back from our weekend at Castleton - wet and windy sat pm and all night! Unfortunately our pitch was under trees and the wind blowing the rain from the trees onto the roof of the caravan - very noisy! Sunday wasn't too bad though.

We decided to leave awning up and take down today as BBC weather forecaswt said dry, dry , dry! It started raining about 7pm last night and never stopped until 7am this morning so awning is now on washing line drying out! Also had rain blowing off trees during the night again! We never usually pitch under trees but didn't have a choice this time!

Never mind we still enjoyed our weekend - lovely day today!  What a summer this is turning out to be!

This is England! That means that the weather is going to be wet, cold and windy Anything better than this is a bonus!
