My air con was blowing out warm air. I took it to kwik fit. If your air con is not 10% cooler you get it free. It cost about £75.00 to have it recharged & de bugged. Or you could just have it recharged for £50.00.

Am I right in thinking that when running with aircon on, you use more fuel???
Yes, but not as much as driving with windows open.
Old aircons used to cause about a 10% increase in fuel consumption, but modern systems have a negligible effect.

Thanks for that info, there was just something in the back of my memory.Thankfully aircon systems have moved on. I personally use my aircon when required..those couple of summer days we get up here on the North East of Scotland lol
------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.
It is a fool who has to say something.
My local car mechanic has a man that come in to do air con, so when it goes for its service and MOT next week the air con is getting looked at then.
I trust my mechanic, so if it needs a repair, he will give me a fair repair price. I'd much rather him tell me it will need £200 to fix it rather than Halfords!
Fingers crossed though if a leak is detected it will be a simple and cheap repair.
