Well thanks for all your kind wishes. My boy said the interview went well. He had to do a 10 min talk on a subject they had set for him before the interview, then had to tell them what he would do in two different scenarios (that he didn't know about before the interview), both of which he has come across in his work for local fisheries, so fortunately he knew what to say! That was before the more formal interview. The lad reckoned he had done pretty well on all of it, and is confident of a second interview - I hate to think what the next one will be like! The first was two hours long. He won't know whether he is through to the second stage until next Monday or Tuesday, so we are now all waiting with bated breath!

Keep those fingers crossed - I'm sure it helped!
