does anyone have an e-reader?
if so which one is the best kobo ,kindle ,sony

thinking of buying one for myself but dont know which one
any recomendations

Kindle for ease of use, sony for build quality but harder to load books onto.

I had a Kindle for christmas. Its so simple to load books I didn't realise I had done it.

I have had the sony e-reader for a few months now and am very pleased with it. I chose this e-reader as I wanted to be able to download books from the public library and I was made to believe that it was not possible with a Kindle. These were the 2 e-readers I considered due to the good reviews. The sony reader was more expensive than the kindle, but I have now read more than 15 library books on it and this makes the higher price worthwhile. Battery life is also very impressive. I hope this is of some help.

Sony PRS 300, I have no problems loading books onto it had mine nearly 2yrs, best thing I bought, absolutely brilliant for holidays

We have 3 sony e-readers in the house and we think they are brilliant. Dead easy to load books onto. If your library does ebooks then just join and your away. Can`t do that with a Kindle.

I have heard that some types are hard to read outside if you were ever to get bright sunlight, not sure if that's due to reflection or heat, but the kindle is fine.

I have the kindle touch and pleased with it.
Tons of free books to be found and not just the classics. Have a look on the Amazon discussions in the Kindle Forum.
I found 12 today that I downloaded.
Not sure if the others have as wide a choice.
Easy to buy on computer and have it download to kindle.

i have the kobo touch. really like it they are all much of the same tbh just i believe the knidle has the best book source with kobo not far behind, not really much knowledge of the sont. i love mine dead easy to use can read several books at once if you get to a dull patch, plenty of options to set font size and type etc to your own preferences.

Just very weird having to charge up your book every once in a while!!

My hubby really wants one but he says he wants it to be back-lit (whatever that is) & I cannot find one. He wants to use it for library books. Can anyone tell me if you can get one that is back-lit?

The Kobo for me , really pleased with it , converted me from solid books to ebooks , dont think their is a lot in any of them , tried a kindle for a while and that was fine ,no better or worse than the Kobo ,Kobo won on price for me

I know the Kindle isn't backlit don't know about the others though Don't let it put him off the Kindle because you can buy loads of reading lights

I can vouch for both the Sony and the Kindle. I did consider my Kindle an upgrade for the amount of books available.

Both are great in sunlight but neither are back lit. It would drain the battery too much. I have a clip on light that is brilliant and illuminates the whole screen.

ebooks can be converted for any reader using Calibre ebook manager which is free to download. I had some ebooks that I had not read yet when my kindle appeared so I just downloaded it and converted the books for Kindle use.

Whichever you choose you will not be disappointed as they are both great systems.

I have a Kindle, chose that because 12 months ago it seemed to be the only one with the screen which could be seen in bright sunlight.   Since then E readers have become much more popular, and most can (from what I can gather) be read in bright sunlight.
Because I had the Kindle, when it came to buying the kids e readers I went for the Kindle to make sharing books easier.
