lol There is'nt a good time to go to Beddgelert.    Hit and miss were  the weather is concerned.

There are a few pitches where there's no trees.    If you are going without ehu. I recommend you  pitch on the grass area next to the play ground.  You should be fine there, if trees and mud worry you.  ( I have put my kneck on the line)

Don't pitch in low lying areas or  dips.

It should'nt be too bad walking in the forest.  They maintain the forest quite well.  A lot of the trees have been cleared.  It is not as dense as it use to be.

If you have ehu, then the pitches will become muddy,  choose carefully.

I have camped there in February, March.  with torrential rain, and wind. Never had a problem with being flooded or trees coming down.   Have with mud on the EHU.  If you have room for those decking boards, they are fab, they do help keep the mud out.  When coming and going.

I use a small groundsheet and mat, and towel by the doors which are in use,  towel or mat the dog.   My BC lies straight on the towel from his walk and not allowed to move intill he's dried.

Make sure that you pitch bum in wind (the tent that is) Take your rock pegs with you,  but that grass area may not be too bad.  but I have never pitched in that area.

Hope this helps
