Big commercial campsites with all the amenities...Including cctv..Security guards patrolling day and night..Noise and fights outside your tent from the revellers returning from the pub etc.. etc.. etc..My idea of hell on earth and very tacky...
Granted only one bad experience of such a place...But was bad enough to put me off for life.....
Used to dislike the seafront attractions at the big coastal resorts(this country) But fell in love with Bridlington for a few years after honeymooning there and returning with the kids later in life...There's actually a bit of a buzz about such places???????

The tackiest of tacky ... Marian Shrine at Knock, Co Mayo, Ireland.
Had an early flight from Knock airport so stayed in the village the night before. The shrine itself as well as the huge church and outdoor area for mass (without the capital letter) services is surrounded by a tourist market selling every kind of Christ/religion related trash you can imagine, including plastic bottles of holy water, Jesus trophy-type statues and soap in the shape of the Holy mother.
I'm not religious, if I had have been I would have been appalled. As it was it remains one of the most sureal places I have ever been. However, the pilgrims flock there in their thousands.
Five years ago we booked our first French holiday to the Vendee, then read some of the not so good comments on here about it.
We Were concerned that we had done the wrong thing.
Couldn't have been more wrong, loved it and we are going back for the fourth time in August.
tracy35 I now have this vision of a big hairy bloke having a shower with vigin mary soap,I hope the vision goes soon!!!!
Have never been to Disneyland Paris, thinking like many others that it will be tacky, but having read the views here,I think a trip with the grandchildren might have to go on the bucket list.
