I've just had one of these texts to my mobile - it says text stop if you don't want them anymore but it's on my list of annoying text nos that I've already texted stop to before - twice! Have ignored it this time. Any ideas as to how to kill them?

just ignore them, I think they text random numbers in hope of a response, the car insurance comparison websites are fiends for handing out numbers to theses kind of cons.
alternatively you may a function to block them on your phone or your provider may do it for you most charge for this service.

A few years ago I had a double glazing firm kept ringing me, I told them repeatedly I was not interested. In the end I caved in & accepted there offer of a "half price concervatory"
The salesman was less than amused when he turned up at my first floor flat & I asked him how they would atatch a floor to my shiny new consevatory

Ignore them and delete the texts without reading. If you text 'stop' it just lets then know that the number is active so they will keep texting you - although it's a tad annoying just ignore them and they'll give up eventually

Off topic but I never put the right phone number or email address in when using comparison sites, just change a number or letter, so long as the fields are filled out then the quotes are generated, once you have made your choice you can give the company involved the correct details. Saves loads of spam and unwanted follow up calls.
Ive started putting in a phony number for comparison sites etc, cos if its not the scammers, its the insurance Cos themselves trying to get you to buy THEIR insurance, I just ammend it in the final policy.
Sat in a pub the other day when I got the 3rd PPI call of the day, well after a couple of pints of wife beater I lost it & yelled down the fone in no uncertain terms, as I hung up I looked round & what was a dull pub suddenly picked up with everyone nodding & agreeing & telling how they got rid of them, ended up with 4 of us having a good laugh & none of us had ever met before.
My mate does the chinese voice but he lets them prattle on then asks if its for collection or delivery.
Well on my daily call from them today I spoke her own mother tongue..Indian,boy it must have been good, she actually fell for it, mind you I went off on one, keeping the accent.I am off work sick at present and really peed off but these calls really cheers me up..
