That was the impression I was given reading the articles raftguid. The restrictions are for the areas, where there are: bad, blind, double bends, poor visibilty. It is more economecal for the car, if the speed is kept down, thus by avoiding, going up and down the gears, limiting wear and tear. From the gist of things There will be one sign at the beginning of the zone area and one on exiting. Where I live, some of the speeds have been changed, One road has gone from 30 to 50mph, two others from NSL to 50 mph, two from 30 to 40 mph. These changes are so much better. Now every one can drive legally at the correct speed. Funnily enough the road which has gone from 30 to 50mph, many drivers do 30 mph. I think car manufactures should take some responsibily, especially on high performance cars. Why develope cars to do high speeds. But saying that driving at low speed can be just as dangerous, when it is safe to drive at the correct speed according to road conditions. heath63
